Today is December 29, my last posting for the year possibly. I was reading some facebook announcements last night about the last weekend of 2014 - I did not even realise that was the case - all because I have been spending many a weekend by myself while Joe has been to Melaka. It wasn't nice at all. But it had to be. The good news is he's back today to spend a few days of the new year at home. I am hoping it'll be a long few days!!
How was your Christmas? Mine was very good. Thanks to a Christmas dinner with Mervyn and Yuet Sum, Ariff and Aida and Arisha and Omar. It began at 6 and ended at midnight forcing us to sleep in at MAPLE - which is not half bad at all. So, our Christmas in a word - AMAZEBALLS!!
Lets hope the New Year with Ian, May Yee, Gary, Yue May and the 3 children will be just as exciting. It certainly will not be as long - not when there are little children - 1 month to nearly 3 years.
Meantime, we are about to open HANTU this 1st of January - yes that's a treat - but an even bigger treat for me is when I watched the Year End Concert of the STRING ENSEMBLE conducted by Dr. Andrew Filmer. Of all the String Ensemble concerts over the years - this was the best. Andrew, being well trained in the art of playing the violin, teaching and conducting was able to put the three together entertainingly - I guess the players were entertained too though there were not too many smiles on their faces - perhaps they were so focussed on their music sheets. Andrew's repertoire was quite special. Let's hope the next conductor for the String Ensemble can ride on this for the sake of the kids.
And tonight is the 5th rehearsal for the staging of USMAN AWANG'S UDA DAN DARA 2015. We began on December 15th. Today is December 29th. Yes we were taking it easy before we jump in deep from January 12 onwards.
